Viable Placemaking are thrilled to see a planning application for the conversion of a dwelling house to three flats be granted planning permission in Reading Borough Council.
Following liaison with the property manager, owner, and Local Planning Authority, Viable Placemaking submitted an Affordability Statement to the Council to support the application.
Previous research conducted has established that housing supply plays a component in housing affordability. If a scheme provides more units which are more affordable to more of the population, then it may be considered to improve affordability, subject to review of the local demography and market.
The Affordability Statement reviewed the scheme and confirmed that the development improved affordability, which was then submitted to the Council to be considered as part of the planning application.
